The People Planning & Insights team is part of Human Resources and delivers in si ghts to help business leaders make the best Talent decisions through the development and application of metrics and analysis. The team is accountable for strategic workforce planning, employee listening, identifying , and analyzing workforce trends, and recommending ways to improve engagement, drive efficiency and increase productivity across the workforce.
The Opportunity
The People Planning & Insights team is seeking a Data Science Summer Intern to analyze employee lifecycle (ELC) survey data . The internship will provide an opportunity to get hands-on experience with real HR data , collaborate and network with People Analytics professionals, and improve our employee experience at MetLife by delivering insights from employee feedback .
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables :
• D raft a code book of employee life cycle survey data
• G enerate hypotheses and plan analyses collaboratively
• C onduct data exploration to identify patterns, correlations, response clusters in the ELC data
• L everage text analytics to identify topics and associated sentiment
• U se general linear models to test hypotheses
• S ynthesize and present findings to the ELC work team
Required Skills and Experience :
• Experience running descriptive and inferential statistical analyses in R or Python
• Experience visualizing and summarizing analyses for a non-technical audience
• Critical thinking and creativity required to explore unfamiliar data and emerge with actionable findings
• Highly ethical and detail-oriented when handling sensitive data
• Self-motivated learner capable of researching and solving technical challenges
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
