Your Responsibilities
As a Product Manager, Customer Technology Utilization Insights for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Urbandale, IA, you will...

  • Define and communicate a vision, strategy, and roadmap for Customer Technology Utilization Insights.
  • Lead the discovery and definition of the Customer Technology Utilization data products by collaborating with Product Management, Business Transformation, Architecture, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams, and other data providers to understand the needs for customer technology utilization & license management insights.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to create production-class features that aggregate and synthesize data from multiple source systems. Ensure these features offer uniform consumption patterns to digital application teams, business intelligence analysts, and data science teams to promote reusability and consistency for customer technology utilization & license management insights throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with architecture, platform engineering, product management, and PV&V to advocate and promote best practices for uniform data capture requirements and alignment on customer technology utilization definitions during the initial design stages to support the success of your product.
  • Engage with data engineering and data science teams, business transformation teams, and product management teams to co-create insights (diagnostic, cognitive, prescriptive, descriptive) for customer technology utilization and license management.
  • Use your domain experience, technical knowledge, and business judgement to understand what is technically possible and strategically important to the business.
  • Translate external and internal customer needs into specific product requirements and features. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog to ensure teams are working on features that maximize business value. Ensure your products come alive through written and verbal communication to enable engineering teams to build it.
  • Develop and measure key success metrics for your products and drive increasing levels of utilization and satisfaction to catalyze the use of customer technology utilization and license management insights to deepen our customer's engagement with our technology and personalize their experiences.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in product development in a product management or engineering capacity.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a role building products with significant data engineering or data science component.
  • Understanding of machine data capture, data pipelines, datalakes, databases, and data engineering practices that generate data products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build strong and productive relationships and communicate clearly to audiences of all levels, technical and non-technical.
  • Understanding of user needs and refining those needs to build and prioritize a roadmap.
  • Experience in measuring and communicating objectives and key results for data insights.
  • Experience in creating product success metrics, both upstream of the product itself and for the product itself
  • A passion for agriculture, construction and technology and its potential to enhance lives.


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Domain experience with data relevant to John Deere customers, equipment, technology, and outcomes created in agriculture or construction.
  • Broad exposure to machine data flows in both onboard and offboard contexts
  • Experience defining, developing, and delivering data products/platforms that serve multiple feature teams at production scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Understanding of regional regulations and compliance needs applicable to data environments for customer data.
  • Good understanding of Agile / software delivery processes


Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, data science or similar discipline
