At HSO/Aware, we pride ourselves on being specialists in emerging tech and our rapid growth in the ANZ region means we are now looking for a permanent full-time Data Platform Engineer (40 hours per week).
Much like emerging tech is continually evolving and growing, so are our team members.
We have cool partners that bring us awesome projects, meaning that every day is a little different and provides an opportunity to learn new skills - check out our website and LinkedIn to learn about fun stuff we've done recently (at least the stuff we can talk about!).
About our team:- Our customers come from all walks of life, and so do our team. We love learning about each other's backgrounds and interests and cherish differing views on the world as they help us to understand others more.
- We're an oddly-mixed bunch, but we have a couple of qualities in common: our people are highly intelligent and extremely passionate about delivering world-class solutions that hold high value to our customers.
- Banter is weaved in the fabric of our being. Since day one we've had a Teams Banter channel and it's used regularly.
- Personal lives and wellbeing matter…a lot. When our people thrive, we thrive so we go a step above to support our team members and ensure they're taken care of.
- We have great people who want to be the best. We are a tight-knit team who genuinely care for each other’s personal and professional success.
RequirementsAbout the role
You'll be working within our professional services team delivering exciting data projects for customers.
Specifically, here's a bit more detail on what it takes to be a match for this role:
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Data Engineering, particularly in modern cloud data platforms like Azure Purview, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI or their equivalents.
- Ideally, experience in a consulting environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines at once.
- Experience in building cloud systems that collect and wrangle raw data to surface information to downstream reporting or AI workloads.
- Experience in building ETL data integration using tools such as Spark, Python or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work at pace with multiple priorities. Ideally, you've worked in a consulting environment previously to show this.
- Good interpersonal skills and the confidence to work directly with clients to understand and meet their needs.
- Strong learning agility with the ability to reason and problem-solve across a range of data domains.
- Ability to contribute towards transforming business ideas into technical architecture and data platform solutions, and to explain those to non-technical audiences.
- An eagerness to expand your understanding into other areas of emerging tech including Machine Learning, Software, Infrastructure, and IoT.
BenefitsAdditional perks:
- Awesome and exciting work (AKA ongoing learning opportunities). Our recent staff survey said that this was a key thing our team loves about Aware and the good news is it's not something we're ever looking to change.
- Trust and honesty. We upskill our leaders in things like emotional intelligence, empathy, and courageous conversations.
- Flexible working. You are the master of your own calendar; make it work to achieve both your personal and professional outcomes. Whether you want to work from the office or work from home we're up for it.
- Awesome tech to play with. We get to work with lots of advanced robotics and toys that most people won't get to see for years.
- We're serious about work-life balance. We don’t really like people working overtime, but if you do, we track time-in-lieu to ensure you’re paid for every hour you work.
- Fuel for productive brains. Think snack drawers, espresso machines, team lunches, and being treated to home baking possibly too often 🤤
- All the standard niceties you expect from a shiny modern office space - ergo desks, great tech set up for each team member, cool demos to show off and some greenery to keep it zen.
