The Opportunity

As a Manager, Data Operations & Acquisition at Pearl Health, you’ll ensure the seamless flow, accuracy, and reliability of the data that powers our platform. You’ll be the operational linchpin connecting our product, engineering, and vendor partners—ensuring critical data from CMS, payers, and third-party sources is delivered with precision, compliance, and timeliness.

This role blends hands-on technical execution with systems-level thinking. You’ll troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and build scalable data processes that enable Pearl’s rapid growth into new programs and markets. Your work will directly impact the trustworthiness of the data that powers our products, analytics, and ultimately, the success of our provider partners in value-based care.

Who We Are

Pearl Health is dedicated to empowering primary care providers, health systems, and physician-led networks to succeed in the shift to value-based care. Our platform delivers the technology, financial tools, and expert services that enable practices to provide more proactive, effective care to their Medicare patients, ultimately lowering costs and improving health outcomes.

Founded in 2020, we are a team of healthcare and technology innovators backed by premier investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, and AlleyCorp. We partner with thousands of providers across 44 states to build a more sustainable future for American healthcare.

What You'll Do

You’ll lead and optimize the data operations that serve as Pearl’s backbone—ensuring that every exchange, pipeline, and integration is accurate, reliable, and scalable.

  • Own the data flow: Manage inbound and outbound data exchanges, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all systems and vendor integrations.

  • Build scalable systems: Partner with Engineering and Platform Development to improve how data from disparate sources (CMS, MA payers, HIEs, vendors) is acquired, validated, and delivered.

  • Monitor and maintain performance: Establish dashboards and monitoring processes to track SLAs, delivery performance, and data quality metrics across all pipelines.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with Product, Engineering, and vendor partners (including Ursa and Quantician) to coordinate data ingestion, troubleshoot issues, and support new integrations.

  • Problem-solve under pressure: Diagnose and resolve complex data issues quickly, balancing short-term fixes with long-term process improvements.

  • Drive operational excellence: Develop documentation, automation, and best practices that reduce manual intervention and increase reliability.

  • Lay the foundation for growth: Help establish and lead a centralized Data Operations function responsible for ensuring data reliability and scalability across Pearl’s expanding ecosystem.

What You’ll Bring

You are an operational leader with strong technical intuition, deep attention to detail, and a passion for building systems that scale. You thrive in fast-moving environments where precision and performance matter equally.

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years of experience in data operations, data management, or file integration, ideally within healthcare or another data-intensive domain.

  • Strong understanding of large-scale data pipelines and exchange workflows; familiarity with healthcare data formats (e.g., CCLF, BCDA, ADT, QRDA) preferred.

  • Solid technical foundation—comfortable with SQL, cloud storage concepts, and common data exchange protocols.

  • Proven ability to identify, triage, and resolve complex data quality and delivery issues.

  • Strong organizational skills and analytical mindset; excels at creating structure, accountability, and automation in operational processes.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with experience collaborating across Product, Engineering, and external vendors.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with ETL or orchestration tools such as AWS Glue, Airflow, or dbt.

  • Experience managing vendor relationships for data ingestion or integration.

  • Prior work in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.

  • Genuine interest in healthcare transformation and improving data reliability across the system.
