Help build the AI nucleus of a $3B+ AUM private equity firm
This role is a key part of Five Elms’ Data & Sourcing Operations team, the group building the data infrastructure, AI tools, and automated workflows that form the foundation of the firm’s AI capabilities. We identify and qualify thousands of software companies that fit our investment criteria, while also building the systems that connect data and information across Five Elms and expand how AI is used well beyond sourcing.
We’re looking for a well-rounded candidate who combines technical ability with a strong analytical and operational mindset — someone who likes building new solutions, but is equally comfortable owning complex processes and working with messy data. The ideal candidate is excited about using data, automation, and AI to make the way we work better, and wants to be at the center of figuring out how Five Elms actually puts AI to work in practice, not just talks about it in theory.
Our team sits at the intersection of sourcing, data, and AI.
In this role, you'll be a key member of Five Elms' Data & Sourcing Operations team, helping build the AI-driven tools, data infrastructure, and processes that power sourcing and firm operations more broadly:
- Help scale our AI-driven tools and capabilities: Identify high-value applications for AI and help design, build, and implement solutions that have impact across the firm.
- Build and improve our data infrastructure and workflows: Connect data across systems, automate manual processes, and build reliable workflows that make information easier to access and act on.
- Maintain and extend the application and agentic interfaces our team runs on: work within our codebase to evolve how we capture, display, and expose data for humans and agents.
- Operate and continuously improve our sourcing engine: Own key parts of the day-to-day sourcing pipeline, including data ingestion, market mapping, and outreach, while finding ways to improve data quality, efficiency, and process along the way.
- Tackle high-impact operational and strategic problems: Bring a generalist mindset to ambiguous problems, working across teams to turn ideas into practical solutions.
