Data Modeler
Location: McLean, VA (Onsite) | Type: Contract | Rate: $60/hour
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design, develop, and optimize data models that support complex financial systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust data structures, enabling high-quality analytics and data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong expertise in SQL, Snowflake, and modern data modeling techniques, alongside domain knowledge in financial services.
What You’ll Do
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise-scale platforms
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to support analytics and reporting requirements
- Implement and manage data structures within Snowflake environments
- Apply JSON-based data modeling techniques for flexible and modern data architectures
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in data modeling within financial services environments
- Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Snowflake
- Experience with JSON data modeling and semi-structured data formats
- Understanding of data integration and ETL processes
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bonus Points For
- Experience with multi-family mortgage or housing finance data
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms beyond Snowflake
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments
