Data Governance Lead

Adaptfy is growing! At Adaptfy, we are looking for a Data Governance Lead with 5-8 years of experience, to join our Data and Analytics team at our Digital Campus in Porto.

Adaptfy is a turnkey data & analytics solution for the SHV family of companies. We support multiple SHV Groups with advanced Data & Analytics in all areas, elevating their operations in diverse industries across international markets and throughout entire value chains.

• Develop and embed best-in-class data governance processes, frameworks, and expertise within Adaptfy, creating the foundation for SHV Holdings’ businesses.

• Consult and collaborate with SHV Holdings’ subsidiaries to help them establish, mature, and align their governance initiatives with Adaptfy’s methodologies.

• Interpret and operationalize data privacy and protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

• Act as a bridge to build strong relationships and promote a shared governance vision across Adaptfy and SHV Holdings.

• Conduct governance maturity assessments and gap analyses, creating tailored roadmaps for SHV businesses.

• Develop, update, and promote group-wide policies and standards.

• Facilitate Data Governance Councils and collaborative working groups.

• Oversee data quality audits and provide remediation recommendations.

• Lead workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement programs.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS, Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field.

• Outstanding communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts for all audiences.

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-business initiatives.

• Advanced analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking; focus on risk identification and mitigation.

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in data governance/data management, incl. 3+ years senior/consulting in group/multi-entity orgs.

• Experience leading change management, training, and engagement across multiple businesses.

• Visionary approach to building sustainable governance practices.

• Influence, negotiation, and project management skills to unify Adaptfy and SHV businesses.

Nice to have:

• Professional certifications such as DAMA CDMP, CIPP, or equivalent (highly valued).

• Expertise in data modeling, architecture, metadata management, and master data management within complex organizations.

• Hands-on experience with leading governance and quality tools (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, IBM InfoSphere).

• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).

• Proficiency with SQL, data integration platforms, and BI/reporting tools (a plus).
