Definian is seeking a Technical Data Steward / Data Governance Consultant to support enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality initiatives. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and hands-on configuration of data governance platforms. The candidate will work closely with business users, data owners, data stewards, architects, and project teams to implement and operationalize governance processes across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing:- Configure and maintain data governance platforms to support metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, data lineage, and data quality capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain governance workflows to automate stewardship, approval, issue management, and policy implementation processes.
- Support the creation and maintenance of business glossaries, data dictionaries, critical data elements, and metadata repositories.
- Configure governance structures including stewardship assignments, ownership models, domain hierarchies, and approval frameworks.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into governance solutions and platform configurations.
- Support metadata ingestion, asset onboarding, classification, and relationship management activities.
- Assist in implementing data quality rules using SQL queries, issue management processes, and remediation tracking.
- Support lineage management and impact analysis initiatives to improve data transparency and trust.
- Develop governance reports, dashboards, KPIs, and metrics to monitor adoption and program effectiveness.
- Create process documentation, operating procedures, training materials, and user guides.
- Support platform testing, release management, upgrades, and production support activities.
- 2–4 years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, or Data Management.
- Hands-on experience working with Collibra, Informatica, and other data governance tools.
- Experience configuring governance platforms and implementing metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, and lineage capabilities.
- Experience developing governance workflows, approval processes, and automation solutions.
- Hands-on experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for data analysis, data validation, metadata analysis, data quality investigations, and governance-related reporting.
- Familiarity with metadata ingestion, asset lifecycle management, and data quality management practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in consulting, client-facing, or project-based environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide data governance programs.
- Exposure to regulatory, risk, privacy, or compliance-related initiatives.
- Relevant certifications in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Management are a plus.
