Data Entry Specialist

We are looking for a Data Entry Specialist to support our client based in Norflox, VA.

US BASED CANDIDATES ONLY.  

This is an on-site position. Candidates must be located in or near Norfolk, VA.

TECKpert's client, a government agency in Norfolk, VA, is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented professionals to support their critical data management and safety programs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital mission focused on safety and information dissemination within a dynamic operational environment.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform detailed examination and quality control of  customer data for insertion into incident reporting systems.
• Utilize specialized data software to categorize and process information.
• Assign industry-standard codes (e.g., Bureau of Labor and Statistics) to data entries.
• Implement protocols to prevent the release of sensitive personal information.
• Conduct independent review and validation of edited and inserted reports.
• Maintain and submit weekly progress logs.
• Provide support for data-related tasks to enhance customer service to the fleet.
• Communicate directly with customers to resolve data discrepancies, incomplete submissions, or faulty reporting.
• Escalate unresolved customer issues or difficult interactions to supervisory personnel.
• Collaborate with team leads to ensure accuracy and completeness of reports.
• Contribute to recommendations for database improvements.
• Offer technical assistance to internal and external customers regarding data quality and system capabilities.
• Assist in developing resources to standardize data entry processes.

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $60,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successful candidate has the following experience:

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, and Teams.
• Basic internet navigation skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact effectively with diverse clients.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).
• Ability to obtain a sufficient level of security clearance to work with sensitive databases.
• Successful completion of a background investigation and security requirements.
