The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering, updating, organizing, and maintaining information in company databases, spreadsheets, electronic systems, and physical records. The position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Enter and update data accurately into databases, spreadsheets, and computer systems.
- Review documents and records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Verify information and identify missing, incorrect, or duplicate data.
- Correct data-entry errors and maintain accurate records.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files.
- Scan, upload, label, and archive documents.
- Convert information from paper documents into electronic databases.
- Perform routine data verification and quality-control checks.
- Retrieve information and prepare basic reports as requested.
- Maintain spreadsheets and tracking logs.
- Process forms, invoices, applications, orders, and other business documents.
- Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, and general administrative tasks.
- Respond to internal requests for records and information.
- Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, employee, and other sensitive information.
- Follow company procedures for data security, record retention, and document handling.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing information.
- Meet established productivity, accuracy, and deadline requirements.
- Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous data entry, clerical, administrative, or office experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good typing and computer skills.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets and databases.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
