Schedule: 8am-5pm PST, Mon-Fri 

Salary Range: $60000 - $70000/year

OVERVIEW 

Verdani Partners is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineering Analyst to join our engineering team. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong skills in data analysis, interpersonal communication, and project management. The successful candidate will work directly with corporate sustainability team members to develop and implement environment, social, and governance (ESG) strategies and initiatives to support global commercial real estate clients.    

This position requires coordination directly with our clients; therefore, they must have superior communication, writing, and presentation skills. The position also involves producing high-quality reports such as graphs, tables, and presentations to present to our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Primary: 

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing direct support on environmental data management and sustainability strategy. 

  • Environmental performance data analysis (energy, water, greenhouse gas emissions, waste) 

  • Provide strategic guidance on sustainability initiatives and reporting frameworks. 

  • Support clients in meeting local, state, and national benchmarking ordinances and environmental regulations. 

Secondary: 

  • Coordinate and manage multiple vendors, including ESG platform providers, utility bill pay providers, and other third-party consultants engaged by the client. 

  • Contribute to green building certification projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR Certifications, and other third-party rating systems as needed. 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, Energy Management, or another related field.  

  • Passion for sustainability and green buildings   

  • Experience using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager   

  • A self-motivator with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills   

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment   

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   

  • Detail-oriented mindset   

  • Strong project and people management skills 

Preferred: 

  • LEED Green Associate or LEED Accredited Professional – EBOM  

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE)  

  • Certified Energy Manager or Certified Energy Auditor 

  • Experience with sustainability reporting initiatives such as GRESB, CDP, UNPRI, etc.   

  • Experience with net zero initiatives and different frameworks   

  • Knowledge of green building certifications such as LEED, Fitwel, WELL, IREM   

PLATFORMS & SOFTWARE 

Required: 

  • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)  

  • Collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, Slack, or similar)  

  • Project management tools (Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, or comparable software)  

  • ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager 

Preferred:

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

During the execution of job responsibilities, the employee should expect the following conditions and demands associated with the role:  

  • Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer  

  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers 

  • Occasional light to moderate lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be necessary 

  • Close vision requirements due to computer work 

  • Adequate hearing for effective communication in-person and/or on the telephone 

  • Ability to move objects weighting up to 25 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and/or 5 pounds continuously.  

  • The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting where moderate noise levels may be present.
