  • Work with large, complex data sets to meet business requirements, improve data quality, and ensure data is accurate and timely
  • Develop and optimize infrastructure for extracting, loading, and transforming data from a variety of sources
  • Build and enhance analytics tools and data models that power reporting and provide actionable insights into key business metrics
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the Product, Operations, and Executive teams to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs
  • Support production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and continuous improvement of performance and reliability
  • Contribute to team practices, including code reviews, documentation, and occasionally helping more junior teammates

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a closely related data-focused engineering role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing cloud data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
  • Experience building processes that support data transformation, data modeling, metadata management, and dependency/workload management
  • Experience with AWS cloud services such as EMR, S3, Glue, SES, SNS/SQS, or EC2 (or similar services on another cloud provider) is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable data stores
  • Experience working with and supporting cross-functional teams
  • Python programming experience, especially in data engineering contexts
  • Experience with Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse
  • Experience with ETL/ELT and data transformation tools such as Fivetran, dbt, etc.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Sigma, Tableau, Metabase, Looker, etc.
  • A Computer Science or related technical degree, or equivalent practical experience
