Data Engineer

Business UnitTechnology Engineering Group (TEG) is responsible for supporting the company and its business groups on technology and operational platforms, as well as the construction and operation of R&D management and data centers, TEG provides users with a full range of customer services. As the operator of the largest networking, devices, and data center in Asia,TEG also leads the Tencent Technology Committee in strengthening infrastructure R&D through internal and distributed open source collaboration, constructing new platforms and supporting business innovation.What the Role Entails

• Contribute to Tencent’s overseas data center strategy in line with company and departmental objectives; oversee local management of overseas data centers, including site selection, construction, and operations to ensure quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and security.
• Manage IT operations for overseas data centers, including IT maintenance, relocation, decommissioning, warehousing, asset management, operational safety, and service management, while building and maintaining relevant processes and documentation; support IDC-related compliance certifications.
• Manage relationships with overseas data center and network operators, building strong partnerships to ensure secure and reliable operations.
• Oversee and evaluate on-site operations outsourcing partners and teams.
• Drive the development of the overseas IDC ecosystem.

Who We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree or above, with 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or networking.

• Proficiency in both Chinese and English (written and spoken), with the ability to communicate effectively with international stakeholders. Prior overseas work experience preferred.
• Familiar with IDC infrastructure architecture and mainstream infrastructure systems/equipment; knowledge of overseas operator internal operation mechanisms. CDCP certification and familiarity with overseas IDC or network ecosystem resources are a plus.
• Knowledge of mainstream data center servers and networking equipment; understanding of IT hardware fundamentals, internet interconnection technologies, and overseas operator collaboration models. Broad relevant experience preferred.
• Strong operational service management skills, with knowledge of mainstream IT management frameworks. ITIL certification preferred.
• Strong communication, project management, and coordination skills, with hands-on experience in overseas IDC project management. PMP certification preferred.
• Steady and composed personality, meticulous yet bold in execution; strong sense of responsibility, high learning agility, and strong team spirit.
• Able to travel overseas as required for project construction or operational needs; must demonstrate strong stress resilience and self-adjustment ability.
