Artisan Partners is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll harness cloud technologies and a modern data platform to build scalable, reliable infrastructure that powers data-driven decision-making across the firm. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a collaborative and creative mindset, and a passion for advancing data capabilities within the asset management industry. Preferred experience includes working with Python and SQL.
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to:
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data integration processes across internal and cloud-based platforms.
- Assist in building and optimizing data workflows using orchestration tools (e.g., ActiveBatch, Tidal, Airflow).
- Monitor and troubleshoot existing data infrastructure to ensure reliable performance and data availability.
- Contribute to the documentation of data models, processes, and workflows to support ongoing enhancements and data governance initiatives.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field
- 0 – 5 years working knowledge of data systems
- Basic knowledge of data management, data modeling, and data integration techniques
- Familiarity with MS SQL Server, Snowflake, Python, Enterprise Orchestration (ActiveBatch, Tidal, Airflow, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
- Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and data mesh architectures
- Understanding of data security, data governance, and compliance regulations
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in data management
