The Data Engineer is primarily responsible for managing and optimizing our growing data infrastructure. The Data Engineer collaborates with the analytics team and managers across the business to drive our data-driven business strategy, ensuring data availability, accuracy, and integrity. This role offers an opportunity to shape our data ecosystem and contribute to our company’s long-term success. Expertise in ETL processes, advanced SQL, and data modeling will be crucial in developing robust data pipelines and scalable solutions. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop robust ETL processes using tools such as SSIS and Azure Data Factory to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Apply expertise in OLTP and OLAP relational data modeling to design and maintain data structures, ensuring scalability, performance, and adherence to best practices.
- Implement and maintain data warehousing techniques, including the creation of star and snowflake schema data models, to support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analytics.
- Utilize advanced SQL skills to optimize and automate data retrieval, manipulation, and aggregation for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders, to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and reusable data solutions.
- Continuously monitor and improve data quality, integrity, and consistency across various data sources and platforms.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of data engineering concepts and best practices.
- Proficiency in ETL processes, utilizing cloud-based tools such as Azure Data Factory, AWS Data Pipe, etc.
- Proficiency in using Azure or AWS cloud based services like blob storage/S3, Azure SQL/RDS
- Familiarity with relevant cloud services like Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, etc.
- Expertise in advanced SQL, with the ability to write efficient and optimized queries in both OLTP and OLAP datasets.
- In-depth knowledge of OLTP and OLAP relational data modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake schema data models.
- Strong experience with MS SQL Server or other RDBMS platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and work well within a team.
- Knowledge in utilizing MS Dynamics 365 as a data source is highly desired
The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000USD to $130,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
