The Data Analyst supports data requests for data integrations and migrations, EDI with external trading partners, Power BI visualizations, and BI development.
This includes guiding projects to completion by establishing schedules and coordinating tasks required to complete, creating logical data mappings and documentation, testing, and assisting with development support up to implementation.
This position must also gain a solid understanding of business requirements, industry standards and guidelines to ensure compliance is met with internal and external partners.
Essential Functions
- Maintain EDI standards and implementation guides to document data exchange requirements
- Perform set-up of new trading partners, including coordination of optional fields, testing, and verifying that EDI HIPAA standards are being followed
- Develop and maintain relationships with external trading partners
- Act as a focal point for transactional data exchanges between Navia and trading partners
- Troubleshoot transactional data exchanges with internal departments and external trading partners
- Work with others to identify system problems and recommend solutions to improve processing efficiency and stability
- Demonstrated experience with EDI translators, mapping external business documents with internal data structures, including but not limited to EDI transactions and resolving transmission and data structure issues with trading partners
- Familiarity with the enrollment 834 format
- Effectively communicates issues to management in a technically skilled manner and with strong focus on customer service
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly assess and analyze problems and develop solutions
- Interface with business analysts and product owners on project/request requirements to turn into specifications for development.
- Prototype gathering via T-SQL and/or visualizing data in Excel or PowerBI for projects/requests facilitating better understanding of customer requirements.
- Assist in developing Boomi processes where subject matter expertise is required.
- Assist with data quality analysis with T-SQL scripts and/or Excel macros.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of COBRA benefit experience
- Familiarity with the 834 EDI document standard
- 1-2 years of T-SQL coding experience or ability to read T-SQL code
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) familiarity
- 1-2 years of Power BI experience in creating data models, visualizations, and transformations
- 1-2 years of Boomi development experience in creating EDI processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with large volumes of data.
- Ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Must be able to create relationships through phone/email correspondence.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Adobe, XML and JSON.
