Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Joint Staff Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) team. In this role, you will architect and deliver scalable data solutions supporting Department of Defense mission objectives, enabling advanced analytics, AI, and operational decision support across Joint Staff Directorates.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and architectures to support AI-enabled use cases and operational analytics for Joint Staff missions
- Integrate disparate data sources, ensuring data quality, reliability, and security in compliance with DoD standards
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Implement and maintain ETL processes, data models, and data governance frameworks
- Support deployment, monitoring, and sustainment of data platforms within secure DoD environments
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics roles
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar scripting languages for data manipulation and pipeline development
- Experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and integrating complex data sources
- Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance in federal/DoD environments
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience with Palantir Foundry or Maven Smart Systems (MSS)
- Proficiency in Power Platform or Power Apps for data-driven applications and workflow automation
- Familiarity with Qlik, Databricks, War Data Platform (WDP), or Advana
- Experience supporting operational DoD analytics and AI/ML initiatives
- Advanced degree or certifications in data engineering, cloud, or analytics platforms
