Job Summary
Synechron is looking for a talented Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable big data solutions that support strategic business goals. This role involves managing big data environments, analyzing large datasets for actionable insights, and collaborating across teams to integrate solutions. The Data Engineer will ensure data accuracy and quality through robust control processes and provide technical expertise to support big data infrastructure and applications.
Software Requirements
Required:
Big data frameworks: Hadoop, Spark
Big data processing and analysis tools: MapReduce, Hive, Pig
Programming languages: Java, Scala, Python
NoSQL databases: Apache Cassandra, HBase, or similar
Preferred:
Data visualization and reporting tools: Tableau, Power BI
Cloud big data platforms: AWS EMR, Azure HDInsight, or Google Cloud Dataproc
Overall Responsibilities
Design and implement big data solutions aligned with business requirements and scalability goals
Manage and optimize big data clusters, storage, and environment configurations
Analyze complex datasets to extract trends, patterns, and business insights
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate big data solutions with existing systems
Develop and enforce data quality checks to maintain data reliability and completeness
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing maintenance for big data platforms

Programming Languages:
Essential: Java, Scala, Python
Databases/Data Management:
Essential: Hadoop ecosystem components, NoSQL databases
Preferred: SQL querying skills for data validation
Cloud Technologies:
Preferred: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud big data services
Frameworks and Libraries:
Essential: MapReduce, Hive, Pig
Development Tools and Methodologies:
Agile development methodologies preferred
Security Protocols:
Basic knowledge of data security and governance best practices
Experience Requirements
4+years (specify as needed) of experience in big data engineering or analytics roles
Proven success delivering big data projects with scalable solutions
Experience managing distributed data processing technologies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
Industry experience is a plus but not mandatory
Day-to-Day Activities
Architecting and building data pipelines and big data processing workflows
Maintaining cluster health and fine-tuning performance
Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business partners
Monitoring data quality and quickly addressing issues
Participating in Agile ceremonies and technical discussions
Supporting production environments and incident response
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Professional certifications in big data technologies or cloud platforms considered a plus
