Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office at minimum three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business and two times per week remote.
The Role
The Data Enablement Manager will play a key role in leading the development and maintenance of General Motors Africa & Middle East (GM AMEO)'s data architecture and data enablement strategies to support the enterprise's vision of building a customer centric & data driven organization.
What You'll Do
The key areas of focus will include:
- Omnichannel Program: Primary owner of the data management function of the Omnichannel Program. This will include prioritization of requests, conducting business stakeholder meetings, being a Center of Excellence (CoE) to help internal business stakeholders with their data needs in the realm of customer and dealer data.
- Dealer Data Share (DDS): Manage the DDS program and act as the subject matter expert (SME) in the Dealer Management Systems (DMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and implementation of the Dealer Vehicle Inventory Management (DVIM) systems space. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure data access is facilitated via established processes and maintains integrity with contractual obligations with dealers.
- Data Quality: Ensure that data feeds are healthy and are being processed successfully, and work with the GM IT team and/or dealer service providers to address data processing issues or gaps. Develop a thorough understanding of the DDS program specifications and facilitate the onboarding of new Dealer service providers, as required.
- Digital projects: Supporting with multiple projects that require data from the Omnichannel Program or Dealer Data Share including (but not limited to): Digital Retail Experience, Connected Showrooms, and Inventory Modernization.
- First Party Data Initiatives: Establishing strong relationships with advertising partners and tech platforms, building data platform services capabilities, and ensuring seamless integration with GM's data management systems.
- Data Analytics: Ensure various teams in GM AMEO's function are equipped with comprehensive views of customer and dealer data, trends, behavior, analysis, and reporting.
- Data Enablement: Work collaboratively with global counterparts when required, to plug into global common systems and ensure GM AMEO is represented in yearly planning cycle from a data architecture perspective.
- Consent Management: Create business process to manage consumer consent preferences and ensure compliance with local privacy legislation. Work closely with GM legal to ensure alignment between the collection of consent and the business use of consumer personal information.
Organizational Capacity:
- Build strong, productive relationships with GM AMEO marketing and functional counterparts, leveraging smart processes to drive efficiency.
- Build strong productive relationships with GM IT, global peers/partners, and internal/external agencies.
- Be a self-starter and a team player. Demonstrate positive contributions to GM AMEO's values, objectives, and culture.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills - demonstrated ability to manage and motivate internal and external team members.
- Organizational Agility - understanding the functional elements of multiple GM AMEO departments to implement Data Enablement strategies across the organization.
- Strong Project Management Skills and ability to manage processes and time of multiple stakeholders independently.
- Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate powerfully and prolifically across the organization.
- Technical competency - understanding of database management, GM IT processes, systems, and tools to access / enable data.
- Experience working with various database structures, querying, and manipulating data.
- Possess knowledge of marketing and media landscape, tools, and best practices
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to develop solutions to business problems.
- Able to integrate business knowledge and system analysis expertise
- Able to understand and document the design of large-scale systems integration projects.
- Knowledge of multiple data integration formats such as XML, JSON, STAR, ADF, and API's.
- Strong data analysis skills
- Provide recommendations for work-flow improvement and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with all GM organizations
- Ability to work across both IT and Business functions.
- Be the point of contact for the Omnichannel Program's integration initiatives and work with stakeholders in identifying new data sources and establishing feeds.
- DMS knowledge & working experience is an advantage.
- CRM knowledge & working experience is crucial.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM, Business Administration, or Marketing.
- Candidates with other degrees will be considered if they have proven expertise relating to this role.
