Data Centre Operations Engineer

About the team:
The role of the Global Technology Operations (GTO) Facilities and Datacenter Operations Team is to provide FIS and its clients a technology operating environment that is resilient, efficient and risk averse while meeting all required regulatory and compliance requirements. This includes the maintenance and management of facility infrastructure (UPS, Generators, Cooling), efficient and cost effective technology hosting activities (rack/stack/cabling) and a highly secure operating environment.
What you will be doing:

Maintain and plan IT hardware on multiple platforms in critical data center facilities
Plan data center/raised floor space utilization for data processing equipment in critical data center facilities
Manage projects to move and install new equipment for new clients, move equipment among company data centers and/or refresh hardware
Plan and implement vendor changes to infrastructure and computing environment
Sets up and configures moderately complex equipment configurations
Monitors environmental and safety conditions and takes appropriate action in the event of a problem or emergency.
Develops and maintains supporting documentation and reports as required
Support break/fix situations onsite during off hours
What you bring:

Typically requires six or more years of experience in the implementation and maintenance of hardware in large critical data center environments
Experience in rack/stack/cabling
Experience in Excel - Asset Management is on Excel
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Willingly shares relevant knowledge and expertise to other resources
Willingness to work outside of standard business hours
