Job Description

At NCS Australia we invite our clients to Challenge Us to solve their most intricate data problems. As a Data Architect, you are the visionary at the frontier of this mission, designing the secure, scalable, and high-performing architectures that power the intelligent enterprise. Operating at a strategic level, you will identify high-impact data and AI capabilities, crafting the enterprise blueprints that translate raw ambition into business success. This is your opportunity to build transformative data estates from the ground up, leaving a lasting legacy on the digital landscape.

As a trusted advisor, you will lead the conversation with senior stakeholders, evangelising a bold vision for the future of their data. Your recommendations are respected because they are practical, implementable, and backed by a deep understanding of technical execution. By bridging the gap between C-suite strategy and solution-level reality, you ensure that the foundations we build today are resilient enough to meet the unknown demands of tomorrow.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing modern data lakehouse architectures and ensuring that robust security and governance frameworks are applied across all cloud environments. You will work alongside some of the industry's best, gaining invaluable insights within a dynamic Data and AI practice. Our commitment to continuous learning ensures you will have access to world-class opportunities to refine your expertise and stay ahead of the curve.

Qualifications

You are a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and business value. You understand that in today’s landscape, a data strategy is an AI strategy. You are passionate about building the foundations that make intelligence possible, with a deep specialized knowledge of how Databricks and Snowflake can be leveraged to create seamless, AI-ready ecosystems. You don't just architect for the present; you design for a future where Generative AI and automated insights are the baseline. You have the following:

  • The Strategic Architect: Extensive experience in a Data Architect role, with a proven track record of architecting end-to-end modern data platforms from the ground up.
  • The AI Visionary: You possess a deep understanding of how to structure data estates specifically to fuel AI/ML workloads, ensuring data quality and accessibility are optimized for the next generation of analytics.
  • Modern Platform Expertise: You have a deep understanding of Databricks and Snowflake patterns and how to navigate the native cloud services of AWS and Azure.
  • The Trusted Advisor: Exceptional communication and documentation skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence, and advise client stakeholders on complex business problems.
  • Technical Rigour: You remain technically hands-on and are passionate about best-in-class engineering, including DataOps, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Security & Governance: A strong grasp of security principles in cloud environments and familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Alation, Microsoft Purview).
  • Certified & Agile: You hold relevant technical certifications in AWS, Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake and thrive in Agile development environments.
