The Role

We’re seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of modern and scalable enterprise data solutions for clients in the financial services industry. This role combines deep expertise in Financial Systems, Salesforce solutions, and modern data architectures (Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Mesh) with the ability to guide technical teams and influence client strategy.  The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of architecture, integration, and delivery, and excels in building client relationships via defining and directing data strategies that align with the client’s business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Architect modern data solutions across Data Lakes, Warehouses, and Mesh architectures using platforms such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Design and implement scalable ingestion pipelines and transformation workflows leveraging batch, streaming, and API-based strategies
  • Assess legacy core banking systems and data sources for alignment with Salesforce solutions, focusing on data structure, quality, and mapping readiness.
  • Lead technical implementation across data verticals, including ETL/ELT, Data Lakes, Warehouses, and distributed data products.
  • Apply Data Mesh principles to promote domain-oriented ownership, decentralized data architecture, and self-service analytics.
  • Ensure data strategies address integration readiness, scalability, data cleanliness, performance optimization, governance, and long-term sustainability.
  • Develop data models using best practices such as dimensional modeling, third normal form (3NF), and Data Vault methodologies.
  • Integrate metadata management and data lineage tools to enable traceability, discoverability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design for data observability, incorporating monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain data pipeline reliability and quality.
  • Contribute to enterprise data governance frameworks, including master data management (MDM), change data capture (CDC), security, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Collaborate with delivery and sales teams to scope engagements, define technical solutions, and articulate architectural value to clients.
  • Mentor technical teams and evangelize best practices in data architecture, engineering, and deployment across cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years designing and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in data modeling, integration design, and working with large-scale enterprise systems.
  • Experience with data platforms specifically Databricks, and tools like Talend, Informatica, SSIS.
  • Strong background in database development (SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc.) and scripting (Python, TypeScript, etc).
  • Define scalable data pipelines and lakehouse architecture using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and supporting Azure services at the data product and aggregate levels
  • Define and align optimal data product operating model across key domains, personas, systems/sources, and data products to accelerate and scale data product development.  This involves, but not limited to: establishing key functional roles to represent lines of business for requirements, analytics and reporting needs, executive sign off, and change management.
  • Understanding of data governance and compliance (e.g., data quality, regulatory needs in banking).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a consultative capacity.
  • Collaborate with Data Product Owner to define processes to ensure the desired outcome is met.
  • Define and prioritize the backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with data architects and analytics teams to refine requirements and clarify acceptance criteria.
  • Continuously communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations and maximize Databricks’ business value.
  • Design architecture to optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark, SQL, or Scala in Databricks notebooks and workflows.
  • Design and optimize role-based access control, encryption, and data governance using Unity Catalog and Azure Purview at the data product level.
  • Experience in client-facing consulting engagements, ideally in the financial services or banking domain.
  • Remote position with up to 30% travel based on client needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce FSC data architecture and financial services data models.
  • Certifications or hands-on experience with Databricks, and  Salesforce.
  • Experience designing AI/ML data pipelines or supporting advanced analytics use cases.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce data migrations and multi-system integrations.
  • Prior experience in Agile environments or delivery leadership roles.

The full compensation package is based on candidate's experience and certifications. 
Zennify pay range
$140,000$180,000 USD
