Data Architect

Position Summary

Focus on designing the blueprint of the entire data management framework. This includes setting the vision, policies and standards that govern the collection, storage, arrangement, and use of data across an organization. Data Architects ensure that the data systems are scalable, interoperable, and manageable.

Data Architects design. You will construct data pipelines that transform and transport data from various sources so that it can be used by Data Analysts and Data Scientists efficiently and effectively. You will report to the Director of the Data Practice.

A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of a Data Architect

To design a data architecture that supports data analysis and business intelligence in the most efficient and scalable way possible.

• Design database solutions, overseeing data storage (data lakes, databases) and maintenance.
• Develop scalable data architectures across multiple platforms and computing environments.
• Implement data privacy policies and comply with data protection regulations.
• Work with system designers and developers to implement data strategies.
• Knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
• Familiarity with multiple database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark), and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Expertise in data modeling and design tools.
• Strong experience with Databricks technology.

Responsibilities

• Design and create the data architecture (databases, large-scale processing systems).
• Define how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and IT systems.
• Ensure the data strategies and architectures are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work with business executives to ensure the data architecture aligns with our requirements.
• **Data volumes. Ensure that data flows efficiently through the pipelines, making it usable for further analysis and reporting.
• Implement, maintain, and update data management tools and systems.
• Optimize data retrieval, develop dashboards, reports and perform database maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, helping to ensure that the organization's data infrastructure meets the requirements of complex data analytics.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
• Familiarity with various database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark), and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Expertise in data modeling and design tools.
• Knowledge of database design and structures, data modeling, and data warehousing.
• Expertise in data management technologies and a broad understanding of big data solutions.
• Familiarity with tools and languages like SQL, UML (Unified Modeling Language), XML, and enterprise architecture frameworks.

Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of experience in the data architecture field.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM program.

• SnowPro Advanced Architect
• Databricks Apache Spark Developer
