Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to support data and AI transformation projects in a regulated financial-services environment. You will design scalable data foundations that connect business needs, governance requirements and technical delivery. In this role you also will have the opportunity to combine designing enterprise architecture with hands-on delivery. Together with business and technology teams you modernize a complex data estate, onboard critical sources to a governed cloud platform and create reusable data capabilities for AI, analytics and reporting. You will shape architecture decisions, guide engineers and help transfer the solution into operations.
- You lead the conceptual and technical design, development and optimization of data architecture, from business analysis and target-state design through implementation and data integration
- You define the cloud data foundation using Azure Databricks, including source onboarding to the raw (Bronze) layer and transformation into the enterprise data model in the curated (Silver) layer
- You establish patterns for data modelling, storage, ETL and ELT, APIs and MCP interfaces, and embed access control, data-loss prevention, metadata, lineage and data-quality requirements
- You own architecture decisions, guide legacy decoupling and migration, and lead architecture workstreams and project teams
- You work closely with business, engineering, governance and operations teams, maintain architecture documentation and support knowledge transfer into the run organization
Skills and Expertise
- You have university degree in computer science, business information systems engineering, natural sciences or a comparable discipline
- You have several years of practical project experience in the conceptual design and implementation of enterprise data architectures, cloud data platforms and storage technologies, including ETL and ELT
- Your experience includes delivery across on-premises and cloud environments, preferably Azure Databricks
- You have strong conceptual data-modelling and practical data-engineering skills, including enterprise data models, data structures, SQL, NoSQL, APIs, governance, masterdata, metadata, lineage, access controls and data quality
- You work collaboratively, take ownership and bring strong analytical, conceptual and stakeholder-management skills
- You are fluent in English; German is advantageous for business-facing work, and you can travel when required
✅ Screening Call – Introductory chat with our recruiter
✅ Technical Interviews (1-2 rounds, depending on the project) – Discuss your skills with our experienced Capco colleagues
✅ Feedback & Offer – Receive an offer to join our team!
At Capco, we prioritize your career growth and well-being. You will have a personal coach to support your development and a flat hierarchy that encourages you to share and implement your ideas. Plus, our team events, sports activities, and networking opportunities help you stay connected and engaged beyond work.
