The Senior Data Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture, including databases, data platforms, data integration, data governance, security, analytics enablement, and intelligent automation solutions. This role provides technical leadership for modern data architectures that support business intelligence, advanced analytics, machine learning, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
What You Will Do:
- Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery and implementation of a data lakehouse.
- Design and conceptual and logical fata models and flowcharts.
- Design and develop a strategy for Data Archiving.
- Develop database solutions to store and retrieve information.
- Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Develops data lakehouse solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, backup and recovery specifications.
- Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions and resolving problems.
- Architect enterprise data platforms that support analytics, machine learning, intelligent automation, and emerging AI use cases.
- Design and implement scalable data integration, metadata management, and governance solutions supporting enterprise data products.
- Collaborate with business, analytics, engineering, and technology teams to translate business requirements into secure and scalable data architecture solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural patterns related to data platforms, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled business solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural governance, and mentorship to data engineering and analytics teams.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- 10 years of experience in database design and analysis including 6 years of experience in cloud-based data platform development.
- Experience in Enterprise Database development with at least 3 years of data lakehouse design experience.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent, from an accredited university, in a data processing discipline or equivalent industry experience.
- Possesses a deep understanding of tools used throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience designing enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, and modern cloud-based architecture solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL/ELT, data pipeline, and data orchestration technologies.
- Experience supporting business intelligence, advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Proficient in SQL and modern data engineering practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms and large-scale data processing technologies is preferred.
- Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate
- Databricks Certified Context Engineering Associate
- Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional

- Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms, data architecture frameworks, and Agile delivery methodologies.

- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to provide architectural leadership and mentor technical teams.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
