US Heart and Vascular is needing a Remote Lead Data Architect/Engineer to join our team.
Position Summary
The Data Architect/Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data architecture, pipelines, and infrastructure that support USHV's clinical, operational, and business reporting needs. This role establishes data models, integration frameworks, and governance standards that ensure data across the organization is accurate, secure, and readily accessible for analytics and decision-making. The Data Architect/Engineer partners closely with IT, clinical operations, finance, and other departments to translate business needs into scalable, well-documented data solutions.
Responsibilities & Duties:

Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data architecture, including data models, warehouses, lakes, and integration pipelines that support clinical, operational, and financial reporting.

Develops and enforces data governance standards, including data quality, security, access controls, and documentation practices across all systems.

Builds and manages ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from EHR, practice management, financial, and HR systems into centralized reporting environments.

Collaborates with clinical, operations, finance, and HR leadership to understand reporting needs and translate them into data models and dashboards.

Monitors data pipeline performance, troubleshoots issues, and implements optimizations to ensure reliability and timely availability of data.

Evaluates and recommends data platforms, tools, and technologies to support USHV's growing analytics and business intelligence needs.

Ensures compliance with HIPAA and other applicable data privacy and security regulations in the design and management of data systems.

Documents data architecture, data flows, and system integrations to support knowledge transfer and audit readiness.

When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five (5) years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or database administration, preferably in a healthcare or multi-site services environment.

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing data pipelines, data warehouses, or data lakes.

Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, or similar) and cloud data platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field, or professional certification such as AWS/Azure Data Engineer, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or similar.

Prior experience with electronic health record (EHR) or practice management system data in a multi-site healthcare organization.

Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Skills Required
