The Role
A leading British company in the leisure and holiday industry offers diverse experiences ranging from family-friendly holiday parks to adult-only hotels. The organization is structured into cross-functional product tribes, and this role sits within the Foundation Tribe.
The Foundation Tribe is responsible for delivering core digital systems and features that support other business areas. These include Customer Data, Payments, CRM, and Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
Must have requirements:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics engineering
- Strong grasp of data warehousing principles, especially dimensional modeling
- Proficiency in data transformation using dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud, and strong SQL skills
- Experience working with the Snowflake data platform
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Fluent in both verbal and written English
Nice to have:
- Experience with data quality assurance and maintenance
- Familiarity with AWS ecosystem
- Proficiency in Python
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows
- Previous mentoring experience is a significant advantage
Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance the company's data warehouse in line with industry standards and best practices
- Translate business needs into efficient, reliable datasets within our Data Lake and maintain data layers in Snowflake
- Build and maintain data models, views, and aggregates using dbt
