Data Analytics Core Engineer

IMC is currently looking for a Data Analytics Core Engineer to join our established Data Analytics Team responsible for building and supporting analysis tools at scale across the organization. Ensuring stable operations at scale is critical as many areas of our business rely on our platforms to perform mission critical analysis for daily trading operations. A DevOps mindset with an awareness of operational excellence and a strong research mindset with an engineering first approach are critical for success in this role.
Your Core Responsibilities:

• Gain strong understanding of various business requirements in order to develop and implement new analytical tools
• Utilize research and development skills and robust engineering practices to develop and implement stable and scalable distributed and streaming data systems for a variety of scenarios
• Manage implementation and scaling of analytics tools from POC to large scale distributed production systems running both on prem and in the cloud

Your Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a python developer; deep familiarity with the language and ways of working in OO, functional and async code
• 3+ years of experience with container-based applications and orchestration systems, preferably Docker and Kubernetes
• Previous experience working in a CI/CD driven DevOps environment in which you have had ownership of the complete lifecycle of projects from inception through operational stability
• Cloud experience with major providers such as AWS and GCP and experience provisioning and maintaining cloud systems using tools such as Terraform or Open Tofu is a major advantage
• Understanding of data stores and technologies and when to apply them, including the use of Relational, NoSQL and Key-Value style systems
• Experience working with Apache Big Data formats and platforms including Hadoop, Iceberg, Parquet, Arrow is a plus
• Familiarity with distributed and batch computing paradigms on systems such as Dask, Ray.io, Spark, Slurm and similar
• Familiarity with streaming based processing systems such as Kafka, Flink, Beam and similar
• Familiarity with the ML Space and Vectorized computation platforms such as TensorFlow & xgboos

The Base Salary range for the role is included below. Base salary is only one component of total compensation; all full-time, permanent positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits, including paid leave and insurance.
