Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Business Analyst. You will support the customer/our needs, translate them to clear requirements, and conduct requirements gathering discussions. Additionally, they will provide continuous improvement of Rockwell Automation's CIAM capabilities.
The Business Analyst will be a bridge between partners, product management, security, architecture, engineering, digital experience, and technology teams. You will translate business and customer needs into clear functional requirements and user stories while helping ensure that CIAM platform continues to deliver a secure, seamless, and customer experience.
You have understanding of authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle management, federation, customer experience.
Main Responsibilities:· Partner with business, product, digital experience, security, and technology partners to understand customer and our needs.
· Independently gather, analyze, document, and prioritize CIAM requirements.
· Will translate our requirements into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
· Identify functional and non-functional requirements, including security, privacy, performance, availability, and usability requirements.
· Facilitate requirements workshops, partner discussions, information gathering sessions with partners and business leaders
· Identify gaps between current CIAM capabilities and future requirements.
· Experience with the following CIAM capabilities and terminologies, including:
- Customer registration and onboarding
- Authentication and authorization
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Federation and social identity
- Passwordless and Master of Fine Arts
- Identity proofing and verification
- Customer profile and identity management
- Consent and preference management
- Account recovery
- Risk-based authentication
- Customer identity lifecycle management
- Customer self-service
- Identity analytics
· Analyze customer journeys and identify opportunities to simplify identity-related experiences.
· Work with Product Managers, Product Owners and Scrum Master to maintain and prioritize the CIAM backlog.
· Create well-defined epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
· Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
· Support prioritization based on value, customer impact, risk, regulatory requirements, and technical dependencies.
· Validate delivered functionality against defined requirements.
· Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenarios and business validation.
· Analyze customer journeys involving registration, login, authentication, profile management, account recovery, and authorization.
· Partner with UX and digital experience teams to improve CIAM journeys.
· Ensure identity requirements support experience across web, mobile, applications, APIs, and digital channels.
· Provide clear status, issues and dependency information to CIAM leadership.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent English proficiency and fluency to communicate with people at all levels.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
- Experience developing our requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile/product management tools.
- Knowledge with customer journey mapping and UX requirements.
- Knowledge supporting large enterprise transformation programs.
- Knowledge of privacy, identity, and security requirements.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications within cybersecurity or digital identity
- Proficient in Microsoft Copilot and AI assisted productivity tools.
