Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Analyst with strong analytical capabilities and experience in the payments industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Excel, AI-driven analysis, statistical modelling using Python or R, and solid SQL skills. Being familiar with AWS QuickSight is a significant plus. 

This role will focus on performing deep dives into transactional data to optimize payment performance and improve systematically acceptance rates. The candidate will also be responsible for generating automatic merchant reporting & merchant monitoring based on large datasets and supporting internal teams in making business decisions driven by data-backed insights. 

Responsibilities

• Perform deep-dive analysis of transactional data to identify trends, issues, and optimization opportunities;
• Systematically identify opportunities to improve payment acceptance rates;
• Develop and maintain automated merchant reporting and monitoring based on large datasets;
• Translate complex data into actionable, data-backed insights to support internal business decisions;
• Create and and utilize AWS QuickSight Agents for automated and recurring reporting;
• Identify patterns, performance drivers, anomalies, and improvement opportunities with statistical analysis tool;
• Collaborate with internal teams and provide analytical support for data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent proven professional experience;
• 2+ years of experience in a data analytics role within the payments, fintech, or financial services sector;
• Some experience with BI Tools with AI components, Python or R for statistical analysis and modelling, automatic report creation. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required;
• SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis; 
• Understanding of payment flows (authorization, settlement, chargebacks, recurring payments, etc.) and a foundational technical understanding of the payments ecosystem. 
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
