The Opportunity

As a Data Analyst on the Reporting & Market Intelligence Team, you will primarily support the efforts of the Competitive Intelligence Team, with the potential for Reporting Team support. You will be expected to either already possess, or have the ability to quickly obtain, an expertise of our annuity products, product specifications and product features.  You will be responsible for The Company’s relationship with several Third-Party Sites and Platforms.  This includes conducting ongoing audits of product and rate information to ensure accuracy, communicating with these sites to request corrections, and to announce and prepare for any new Company product launches and/or changes.

You will be aiding in our Competitive Intelligence efforts by collecting and organizing intelligence on the products offered by our competitors.  This may involve utilizing the Third-Party Sites that you manage to gather intelligence.  It may also involve utilizing the public websites of our competitors and their public filings to gather additional intelligence.  Once obtained and organized, this intelligence is then disseminated to the various internal customers who we support.

There is also an opportunity to support the efforts of the Reporting Team depending on business needs. In this instance you would be responsible for gathering and preparing internal data used for business reporting, requiring an understanding of our internal reporting systems.  

You will be working in a team-centered environment where ideas can be shared and collaboration is encouraged.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintaining our relationships with our external partners at numerous Third-Party Sites and Platforms.
• Auditing of our product features and rates across Third Party Sites and Platforms to ensure that our products are properly represented in the marketplace. This will also require timely communication to these external vendors to communicate any data issues, as well as upcoming product changes.
• Develop an understanding of key competitors across our various channels and accounts, including SWOT analysis type thinking when it comes to positioning our products. This will include creating and maintaining internal resources as a way to organize and track competitor activity and product offerings.
• Collaborate and share ideas within the team so that we can best support each other

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-3 years relevant experience
• Highly sharp attention to detail with the ability to apply business knowledge to identify inaccurate data/information
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
• Self-motivated with an investigative/curious nature and strong critical thinking skills
• Strong written/oral communication skills and ability to present data in a useable format that is adaptive to the audience
• Ability to set and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage workload
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Ideal Qualifications

• Financial services experience and understanding of various annuity products
• Knowledge of our business practices, products, hierarchy structure
• Experience working with our systems a plus (OAS/DataConnect, LifePro, Salesforce, etc)
