Mission & Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and extracting insights from large datasets from various sources in our AWS Datalake, to solve complex business problems. You will work closely with data engineers to implement scalable solutions and ensure that the data you work with is clean and reliable. You will be expected to create actionable results through statistical analysis, data visualization, and software development, enabling decision-making across different teams. You will also play a key role in supporting the team’s efforts to use data more effectively and to automate key business processes.

You will work in a transparent environment where knowledge-sharing and open communication are encouraged. As a team player, you’ll engage with others to reach common goals, making sure to balance both the big picture and fine details.

You will apply your knowledge of statistical analysis and experience with tools like Python or Spark to implement solutions and provide clear insights. Additionally, you will help design and produce efficient data pipelines, contributing to the success of the team and its projects.

To be successful in the role you must bring:

  • At least +3 years of experience in Statistical Analysis: Strong knowledge of basic statistical concepts and the ability to implement them in programming languages such as Python or Spark. You know when to use different statistical indicators and have experience summarizing insights from data.
  • Experience with Large Datasets: Familiarity with working on large datasets and implementing scalable solutions. You understand data cleaning, and you know how to collaborate effectively with data engineers.
  • Problem-Solving with Data: Ability to break down complex problems into manageable analytical components and reuse existing solutions from previous projects.
  • Software Development Knowledge: Understanding of software development practices, including using Git, writing and testing your code, and leveraging it to produce meaningful results. If you're an open-source enthusiast, we'd love to see your GitHub contributions!
  • Proficiency in Data Visualization: Experience with tools like ggplot, matplotlib, Tableau, or similar. Bonus points for experience with Microstrategy or QuickSight.
  • SQL Expertise: You are an SQL ninja, and writing both exploratory and efficient queries is second nature to you.
  • STEM Background: A degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) is highly desired due to the strong software development component of the role.
  • You can give and take criticism well. You don’t get defensive when your ideas are challenged, and you’re polite enough to challenge others’ ideas when necessary.
  • Confidence without arrogance: You are confident but not arrogant. You ask for help when needed and openly admit when you don’t know something. You value and celebrate the contributions of others.
