We are seeking a skilled and strategic Business Data Analyst to join our Chicago office in our Supply Chain Operations organization. As a Business Data Analyst, you will be instrumental in understanding our business systems and processes through data analysis. Your primary responsibility will be to build executive-level presentations that tell the story of what is happening within the organization, supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires a high-level understanding of statistics and the ability to slice and dice data to meet the needs of executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive in-depth intake processes to gather and analyze stakeholder requirements and data requests.
  • Collect, verify, and analyze data from multiple sources using statistical methods
  • Interpret data to identify trends and patterns that support business goals, derive insights, and make predictions.
  • Communicate data findings effectively with various types of audiences.
  • Build data-driven solutions that can help influence decision-making processes.
  • Find opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position is based in Chicago, IL. The successful applicant must be physically located in Chicago or the surrounding area. Expectations of 2-3 days per week in office.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Now and in the Future - The position does not provide sponsorship now or in the future!
  • 4 to 6 years of experience as a Business Data Analyst, Supply Chain Process & Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Business Operations Data Analyst, or similar role along with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Data Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong business acumen to align data analysis with strategic objectives and transform inquiries into actionable insights. Plus strong proficiency in crafting executive-level presentations that clearly communicate complex data narratives.
  • Expertise in data visualization and reporting using tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio to build clear and informative reports/dashboards.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL for querying databases, manipulating data, and performing advanced functions like joins and aggregations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in coding tools such as Python for data analysis and automation tasks.

Preferable Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience.
  • Master’s degree in analytics, business analytics, statistics or MBA.
  • Professional work experience with ML techniques (e.g., regressions, decision trees, ensemble algorithms, neural networks, time series analytics, clustering, NLP, etc.).

Compensation Range:

$85,500$120,200 USD

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%.  Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
