About the Role

We are seeking a Data and AI Governance professional to join our growing advisory practice at the Manager level.

This is an opportunity to work with leading organisations across a broad range of industries, helping clients strengthen their data governance, data risk management, privacy, and emerging AI governance capabilities.

You will play a key role in leading and delivering complex advisory engagements, partnering with senior stakeholders to design and implement governance frameworks, uplift risk and compliance capabilities, and support organisations navigating the evolving landscape of Responsible AI.

You will also provide leadership to engagement teams, support the development of junior team members, and contribute to the growth of Protiviti's Data and AI Governance capability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and deliver Data and AI governance and risk management engagements across a diverse client portfolio.
• Manage engagement delivery, including scope, timelines, deliverables, quality, and client expectations.
• Advise clients on enterprise governance frameworks, governance operating models, policies, standards, and controls.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a key point of contact throughout engagements.
• Conduct governance maturity assessments, gap assessments, audits, and remediation planning activities using recognised frameworks and standards.
• Support clients through regulatory and compliance uplift initiatives relating to data management, privacy, and AI governance obligations.
• Develop and review governance policies, standards, procedures, and control frameworks.
• Support clients in navigating evolving regulatory obligations and industry standards relating to data and AI governance.
• Apply recognised frameworks and standards including DAMA DMBoK, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, privacy frameworks, and applicable AI governance principles.
• Lead, coach and develop junior team members, providing direction, feedback and quality review across engagement deliverables.
• Provide subject matter guidance and support the continued development of Protiviti's Data and AI Governance offering.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, tenders, client presentations and identifying opportunities to support existing and prospective clients.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in Data and/or AI governance and compliance frameworks.
• Experience supporting clients with privacy, regulatory, or compliance uplift initiatives.
• Experience working within a consulting firm, with demonstrated experience leading client engagements.
• Strong stakeholder management and client engagement capability, including experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent engagements and take ownership of delivery outcomes.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing junior team members.
• Strong problem-solving and advisory capability, with the ability to translate complex governance and risk concepts into practical recommendations.
• A proactive, self-starting mindset with strong delivery and leadership capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial mindset and an interest in contributing to business development and the growth of the Data and AI Governance practice.
