D2C GROWTH MARKETING LEAD

Book Club Subscriptions & E-commerce • Austin-hybrid

Think of your favorite book from childhood. Got it? Great. Now, that warm, joyful feeling you have right now—that's what we do. Literati is a modern children's book company focused on helping kids fall in love with reading at every age and stage. We make it easy to discover great books through our school book fairs, book club subscriptions, and online store—powered by a unique mix of expert curation and data science. We're on a mission to help parents ignite a love of learning and a love of life.

We're looking for a growth marketing rising star who wants to own, optimize, and scale our D2C engine. You're the type of marketer who speaks fluent growth marketing, has your finger on the pulse of what's working right now, and gets excited about teaching seasoned operators new tricks while learning from their experience. You thrive in the sweet spot where analytical rigor meets creative insight meets business strategy.

Reporting to our Director of Product Management, you'll own the full customer journey for parents and kids across our signature Book Clubs and new E-Commerce experience that links to our Book Fairs. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where you'll build systems, run experiments, and drive measurable growth across multiple D2C channels. We want someone who can move fast, stay organized, and create productive momentum without creating drama.

Base salary: $90,000 – $120,000 plus equity, benefits, and performance-based growth bonuses.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 2–5 years of hands-on D2C growth marketing experience at a fast-paced, scaling brand

  • Proven success managing paid social budgets and driving measurable user growth

  • Strong technical marketing skills with lifecycle tools (e.g., Iterable, Klaviyo, Braze), analytics platforms (e.g., GA4, Amplitude), and self-service data analysis

  • Experience across multiple D2C channels: paid social, SEM, email, referrals, etc.

  • Excellent project management skills — organized, focused, and effective at driving cross-functional execution

  • Positive, collaborative energy — a team player who brings momentum and fosters an enjoyable work environment

  • Ability to partner effectively with Product, Engineering, Creative, and Sales teams

WE’D LOVE TO SEE
  • Experience contributing to copywriting, basic video editing, or other forms of content creation

  • Skill in aligning priorities and executing growth initiatives that launch on time

  • Comfort analyzing data, running A/B tests, and turning insights into actionable strategies

  • Experience in informing growth strategy and influencing product roadmap decisions

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and optimize the full D2C funnel, from awareness to retention

  • Own performance targets for subscription revenue, marketplace sales, email engagement, and repeat purchases

  • Manage and scale performance across paid social, SEM, YouTube, email, referrals, and emerging channels

  • Manage budgets, run creative tests, and report on what’s working in D2C
Apply up-to-date, platform-specific strategies and creative best practices

  • Share insights into evolving D2C trends, tools, and tactics

  • Build and optimize customer lifecycle flows, including onboarding, activation, retention, and winback

  • Use tools like Iterable, Klaviyo, or similar platforms to manage email, SMS, push, and website touchpoints

  • Collaborate with the creative team on campaign concepts, landing page optimization, and advertorials

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE

You'll have the autonomy to build and scale growth systems from the ground up, with the support of an experienced team that values your fresh perspectives. We want someone who can teach us what's working in modern D2C while learning from our experience building a fast-growing, mission-driven company.

You'll work on a product that genuinely makes families' lives better, with the resources and runway to experiment, scale what works, and make a meaningful impact on our growth trajectory. Plus, performance-based bonuses mean your wins directly translate to compensation upside
