About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for a Cybersecurity Manager. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Directs the day-to-day work of the ISSM and ISSO team
  • Collaborates with the government ISSM
  • Ensures compliance with DoD Instructions 8500.01 and 8510.01, AFI17-101 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for the Air Force Information Technology (IT), and the "DoD Program Manager's Guidebook for Integrating the Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) into the System Acquisition Lifecycle"
  • Supports efforts to integrate Cybersecurity throughout the lifecycle of IT systems. This includes the development and review of Cybersecurity-related artifacts, including System Security Plans, Cyber Security Strategies, Cybersecurity Impact Assessments, policies, plans, and procedures
  • Manages efforts to continually assess activities and controls to secure information, including gaps in security and identifies solutions to mitigate risk, including business processes, technical controls, and policy improvements
  • Leads the development of security policies, plans, and procedures to meet government regulations and industry best practices
  • Coordinates and reviews technical assessments
  • Uses automated tools to analyze system security control compliance
  • Collaborates with technical managers to ensure required controls are implemented and security processes are followed
  • Builds collaborative internal relationships with program and project teams, as well as external relationships with customers, regulatory bodies, other agencies and business partners
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Clearance Requirement
This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.
Certification Requirement
The applicant must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II or higher certification requirements on hire date.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education and Years of Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 10+ years of relevant work experience, or
  • BS/BA Degree (typically in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technologies, etc.) and 7+ years of relevant work experience, or
  • MS/MA Degree: and 5+ years of relevant work experience

Other Experience Requirements

  • Proven track record working with customers and building strong relationships
  • Proven experience leading a cybersecurity team
  • Proven experience working in a DoD enterprise environment
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative, complex problem-solving skills, and an ability to organize assigned daily tasks and the tasks of subordinates with no supervision
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, external vendors, various levels of management and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience
  • Committed to results and success in accomplishing goals
  • Effective in developing and capturing metrics that reflect team performance
  • A fast learner with an ability to quickly understand different technologies
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with troubleshooting, identifying and solving issues

Clearance Requirement

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Prior management experience leading groups of cyber professionals and demonstrated talent in management/development
  • Experience in Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
  • Previous success in developing standards, process improvement, and managing processes
  • Ability to review, analyze, document, and explain technical systems and data
  • Experience with matrix organizations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or similar
  • Experience as a DoD System Program Manager
  • Experience working with senior organizational leaders, including Authorizing Officials and senior customer leadership
  • Recent experience working cybersecurity in a DoD environment


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $91980 - $156330
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
