Sr. Security Engineer (Remote) at CrowdStrike
About the Role:
Come join CrowdStrike’s Fed/Gov Services team on our mission to protect this nation’s most critical Department of Defense branches, Civilian agencies and Systems Integrators who support the US Federal Government. The Fed/Gov Services Team is seeking a Platform Operations Resident Engineer who would be responsible for assisting Federal Government customers with the planning, deployment, field and operational support of the CrowdStrike platform and related technologies. The Resident Engineer will have responsibility for all aspects of the deployment and configuration from the initial customer engagement, planning, installation, optimization/utility, maintenance and follow-on customer support for the CrowdStrike platform & applications.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deployment and Operations activities may include:
Work closely and collaboratively remote or onsite, as required, with customer information technology teams
Provide technical architecture, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting assistance of the CrowdStrike technology and associated applications
Utilize common software deployment technologies to install CrowdStrike technology
Leverage APIs, builds scripts and develop customized processes to support deployment, configuration and operationalizing CrowdStrike technology
Leverage various CrowdStrike applications to support customers in vulnerability, asset management, identity, cloud security and more
Assist customers with the integration of CrowdStrike into existing third-party tools, dashboards and business processes
Qualifications and Skills
Education/Experience:
We are seeking candidates with the right combination of training and skills to join our team. Successful candidates coming from an academic background will likely have a BA or BS degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Information Security, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity or a related field. Applicants without a degree, but with relevant military or work experience and/or training will be considered and should apply their previous experience to the qualification areas above. This relevant experience must include 3 years of experience performing IT deployments or in an end user/customer environment, as well as experience with the following:
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Prior experience implementing and managing antivirus or other security technologies
Deep understanding of software deployment technologies
Highly knowledgeable on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
Broad experience in computer and network systems security
Solid analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems
High level of motivation; self-starter; results driven
Experience in the following areas preferred:
Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, Mac
Software Deployment: SCCM, Group Policy, McAfee EPO, IBM BigFix, Puppet, Chef, Citrix, PDQ, PsExec
Scripting: Powershell, Python
Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP
Additional Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship with active DoD Top Secret (Secret will be considered) security clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years.
Must possess or be able to obtain CISSP or Security+ certification in compliance with DoD 8570 within 6 months from start date.
This role will require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint check(s) consistent with government customer requirements.
