As the Software Engineering Manager, Security Analytics, you'll build our Security Analytics team that willdesign, build, and operate the data pipelines used to make risk evident at Roblox. This manager will lead a team of software engineers and data scientists with a mission to drive enterprise-wide efforts to both assess the security posture of the company and proactively prevent cyber attacks by leveraging data analytics, ETL pipelines, and custom developed analytics.

You Are:

  • A leader of software engineers: You have already led teams, or led their technical effort. You know how to hire, grow, and enable great software engineers and/or data scientists at all levels.
  • Experienced with building and operating ETL pipelines: You have experience with building and operating data pipelines and providing senior leaders and security teams with meaningful and actionable analytics.
  • Team-oriented: You are a "people magnet". You invigorate teams and you are used to leading technical groups in any situation.
  • Passionate about security: You have experience with security-focused analytics, or you want to learn and grow in security.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience as an individual contributor.
  • Some experience managing a team of software engineers.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining distributed systems at scale.
  • Proficient in at least one object-oriented programming language (Python, Java, Go C++, C# .NET).
  • Experience mentoring junior and senior engineers and leading their work.

You might have:

  • Experience building microservices architectures and working with containers.
  • Experience with building automation for Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) programs or the SIEM.
  • Experience with Elastic, Splunk, Qualys, Snyk, Lacework, Burp Suite, HackerOne.

You Will:

  • Lead the team that builds and maintains the automation that powers our TVM program and our SIEM.
  • Shape the team vision for the products, define the roadmap and lead the execution work by example. You build it, you run it.
  • Hire the team and mentor existing team members.
  • Build strong relationships with the other teams in the Security organization, but also across the company, with teams in Engineering and Product.
  • Be part of the security leadership team and influence your peers and the priorities of the security organization.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$283,780$331,640 USD

Hybrid Workspace

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

We are requiring employees to be in the office three days a week – with core days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Mondays and Fridays, employees may choose to work remotely, although the office will still be open.
