Job DescriptionOverview
The Senior Security Architect will take responsibility for designing and implementing a complex information security system solution for Emergency Call Handling organization. This is a senior technical leadership position with an opportunity to influence the future of product and solutions security direction. Leadership, written, and verbal communication skills will be critical to success in this role given the expectation to communicate effectively with various stakeholders internally and externally.
Job Description
As a Senior Security Architect, your primary responsibilities are:
Define overall security strategy and plans for the product solutions
Alignment in security compliance, process, and standards, including security engineering and solutions for the product solutions
Provide guidance and support to the product and scrum security champions as needed
Enhances security team accomplishments and competencies by planning the delivery of solutions and answering technical questions
Plans, researches, and designs security architecture for the solutions
Develops, reviews, and approves installation requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, firewalls, routers, and related network devices
Determines security protocols by evaluating business strategies and requirements
Responds to, and investigates, security incidents and provides thorough post-event analyses
Reviews system security measures and implements necessary enhancements
Drive Zero Trust Architecture initiatives across the organization
Additional responsibilities are:
Keep abreast of cybersecurity regulations and requirements applicable to SaaS or cloud-based solutions and products
Collaborate with the Product Management team and drive compliance requirements into product security objectives
Provide technical guidance to engineers and architects in transforming the security standards into specific product and design requirements
Document security architecture diagrams and related plans
Provide technical response or guidance to the security content of business opportunities and customers inquiries
Review, approve and track security solutions across multiple suites of products
Help align adoption of the MSI Secure SDLC framework
Work closely with the product champions, including but not limited to risk management and compliance to MSI compliance requirements
Qualifications and Skills
Strong working knowledge of IT risks, cyber security, and computer operating software
Advanced understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and security
Experience with telecom protocols and how to secure them
5+ years of Application Security experience
Authentication, authorization, and access control methods
Network access, identity, and access management (e.g., public key infrastructure, Oauth, OpenID, SAML, SPML)
Cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools and their capabilities
Capabilities and applications of network equipment including routers, switches, bridges, servers, transmission media, and related hardware
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Experience implementing security solutions
Comfortable working on a team
One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CISA
Strong professional experiences in two or more of the following areas: software, cloud, or cybersecurity
Additional Skills
Determining how a security system should work (including its resilience and dependability capabilities) and how changes in conditions, operations, or the environment will affect these outcomes
Apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
Writing/reviewing test plans
Applying and incorporating information technologies into proposed solutions
Designing countermeasures to identify security risks
Designing the integration of hardware and software solutions
Using Virtual Private Network (VPN) devices and encryption
Configuring and utilizing software-based computer protection tools (e.g., software firewalls, antivirus software, anti-spyware)
Configuring and utilizing computer protection components (e.g., hardware firewalls, servers, routers, as appropriate)
Designing multi-level security/cross-domain solutions
Translating operational requirements into protection needs (i.e., security controls)
Setting up physical or logical sub-networks that separate an internal local area network (LAN) from other untrusted networks
Identify cybersecurity and privacy issues that stem from connections with internal and external customers and partner organizations

Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science, IT, or a related field
10 years experience in IT risk management and information security
