Position Overview

The Network Security Analyst role is a member of the Security Team, whose mission is to embed industry leading security practices that support and enable business objectives to be delivered safely. This specific position is a technical role, responsible for managing and driving enhancement of our Network security, through adoption of network best practices, and alignment with CIS and ISO 27001 security standards. The Network Security Analyst will be responsible for diagnosing security-related network operations problems. This position requires strong partnership with IT, Global Security, business, and third-party stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Work closely with Network, Systems, and End User Services teams, as well as global Security teams
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality, integrity and professional behavior expected of a Security Professional
  • Serve as a member of the Security Incident Response Team
  • Identify, respond to, and assist with the remediation of security incidents, intrusions, malware infections, etc. at the local, national, or global level as needed
  • Provide overall Network security expertise including strong knowledge of firewalls, ISE, VPN, Umbrella, SDWAN, and other network technologies
  • Deliver subject matter expertise of Network protocols with emphasis in security, management, and support
  • Evaluate and lead network projects from the perspective of information security standards and practices.
  • Review network designs and evaluate compliance to applicable security standards
  • Create and maintain network security related policies, procedures, standards, and documentation as needed.
  • Conduct network security audits and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain current configurations, carry out proper administration and support of information security systems (e.g. Firewalls, VPNs, Enterprise Gateway Devices, Remote Access Solutions, Content Engines, IPS/IDS Systems)
  • Maintain current and relevant knowledge of common network, authentication, and security protocols (e.g. SNMP, TLS, SSL DNS, HTTPS, SMTP, LDAP, KERBEROS, RADIUS and FTPS)
  • Manage and monitor network security consoles and remediate alerts as appropriate.
  • Lead and participate in Network security and strategy discussions
  • Maintain and enhance operational runbooks
  • Stay current in all Network news, including changes, updates, vulnerabilities, roadmaps & releases
  • Learn cross functional skills to participate in the management and monitoring of other Security applications and tools
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with all IT, Security, third-party, service consumer, and business stakeholders
  • Ensure that appropriate maintenance, monitoring, automation, and response procedures are in place, to meet Security and availability objectives
  • Maintain governance (standards and procedures) in alignment with overall Security objectives and governance.
  • Help monitor and enforce compliance with the organization's security policies and standards among employees, contractors, and third parties
  • Apply in-depth advanced knowledge and skills of a specific/specialized technical area with understanding of external environment factors that may affect own specialist area.
  • Provide expert advice, coaching, and counseling within discipline/function area.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer-related discipline or relevant equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with implementing and managing enterprise-wide technical network solutions in a large, distributed environment
  • Expert knowledge of networking required
  • Expert knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP models, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, NetFlow
  • Demonstrable experience with Cisco firewalls and switches, Umbrella, SDWAN technologies,
  • Experience with forensics tools such as Wireshark, Nessus, net sleuth,
  • Experience with SolarWinds, Qualys, Azure NSG, a plus
  • Demonstrable experience with Enterprise-wide rollouts and migrations to include implementation strategy, change control, performance monitoring, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and systems issue resolution.
  • Certifications not required, but CCNA, CCIE, CCNA Security, or similar certifications desired. (ISC)2, or SANS certificates a plus.



Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Report to the office dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.

  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required by business needs
