Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a DevOps / DevSecOps Engineer based at our Bloomington, Minnesota facility. This position could be onsite, hybrid, or full-remote. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A Bachelor's in software engineering or a related technical field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; Agile experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- Expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve issues in creative ways and help company meet financial and business objectives
Strongly Desired Expertise
- Kubernetes (k8s)
- Docker
- CentOS/RHEL platform knowledge
- Ansible
- AWS
- Microservice Architecture Expertise
Desired Skills
- Containerization Experience Including: OpenShift, Mesos, Singularity
- General Linux development experience: CentOS, Ubuntu, Arch, etc.
- Back-End web/API development experience
- Automation Framework Experience: Ansible, Chef, Puppet
- Virtualization Technologies: Virtualbox, VMware
- Cloud Environments/Deployment: Azure, AWS
- General Test automation experience

It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
If performed in Colorado, this position has a salary range of USD $135,000.00/Yr. - USD $170,000.00/Yr.
