Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Cybersecurity Advisor (Executive Level) to serve as a strategic in-country advisor supporting national cybersecurity development. This position will deploy to the Balkans and work closely with host nation senior leadership to assess cybersecurity readiness, guide policy development, and support capacity-building aligned with U.S. Government objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise host nation senior leadership on cybersecurity policy, governance, and infrastructure.
- Conduct strategic assessments and develop roadmaps to strengthen national cyber resilience.
- Mentor local stakeholders on secure network design, cyber incident response, and national frameworks.
- Draft and deliver detailed cybersecurity capability assessments and strategic work plans.
- Coordinate closely with U.S. Government officials, donor nations, and interagency representatives.
- Ensure all activities align with international standards and host-nation-specific contexts.
- Submit timely deliverables including weekly reports, updated work plans, and assessments.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess an Active Top-Secret security clearance or higher to be considered.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in an advisory capacity.
- Proven experience working with senior government or military leaders.
- Experience developing national-level cyber strategy, frameworks, or policy.
- Ability to live and work overseas in high-tempo environments.
- One or more of the following certifications:
- CISSP
- CISM
- CASP
- CCISO
- NCSP
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with the U.S. Department of State, USAID, or DOD-funded programs.
- Familiarity with NATO or EU Cybersecurity Frameworks.
- Prior experience advising national cyber agencies or ministries.
- Language skills in the region (e.g., Serbian, Albanian, or Bosnian).
