Our Promise to Our Teammates: Truliant strives to provide all teammates with an enjoyable place to work where they feel valued, empowered and rewarded for all that they do.

Why this role matters

At Truliant Federal Credit Union, protecting information is essential to earning and keeping our members’ trust. As our Cyber Security Architect, you’ll shape secure technology environments, strengthen our ability to respond to emerging threats, and help the organization meet important regulatory expectations.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex security challenges, influencing how technology is built, and turning risk into practical action that protects both members and the business.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll take ownership of Truliant’s security architecture and help ensure security is thoughtfully built into IT projects, systems, and day-to-day decisions. You’ll connect strategy with execution by identifying risk, designing safeguards, and helping teams respond confidently when incidents occur.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Design and implement secure architectures, configurations, policies, and controls for technology projects, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, encryption, identity management, and monitoring.

  • Assess vulnerabilities and emerging threats, develop mitigation strategies, and lead incident response activities from investigation and containment through remediation and post-incident review.

  • Partner with IT teams, business units, and external partners to integrate security, communicate risk clearly, support audits and compliance, and build employee security awareness.

Beyond that, you’ll help Truliant strengthen its security posture by improving risk management practices, maintaining incident response plans, reviewing security information, and keeping our approach aligned with evolving technologies, threats, and regulatory requirements.

What you bring

We’re looking for an experienced security professional who can see the big picture, work comfortably in the technical details, and guide others toward secure, practical decisions. You’ll succeed here if you combine strong architecture expertise with clear communication, sound judgment, and a commitment to protecting sensitive information.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of IT security experience, including experience in a security architect role.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security architectures, with advanced SIEM experience and substantial experience using IDS/IPS and other network security platforms.

  • Extensive Linux support experience and experience coding in at least one language such as SQL, HTML, Python, Java, C/C++, PHP, Perl, or Visual Basic.

Required Skills

  • Design secure network, system, cloud, and virtualized environments using recognized security technologies, protocols, and best practices.

  • Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and lead security incident response and improvement efforts.

  • Apply regulatory and security frameworks, including ISO 27001, NIST, FFIEC, GDPR, NCUA, and SOX, to monitoring, auditing, policies, and technology decisions.

  • Use security tools and controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption, and identity management.

  • Lead security projects, collaborate across technical and business teams, and explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders in writing and conversation.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.

  • Must have at least one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, CRISC certification.

  • CCSP certification or equivalent.

You should also be comfortable handling sensitive information with integrity, staying current as threats and technologies evolve, and balancing strong security practices with excellent service to Truliant’s members.

What sets you apart

You don’t need to check every box, but here’s what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Must have a strong sense of ethics and integrity in handling sensitive and private information.

  • Must be a strong team player and eager to contribute to organizational success

  • Must be familiar with AI as used by threat actors, and also as used in preventative and detective controls

  • Must have the interest and aptitude to stay current with evolving security threats and technologies.

  • Should be familiar with issues around third-party service providers and third party risk management

What you’ll get

We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally.

In this role, you can expect:

  • Meaningful work that helps protect Truliant’s members, sensitive information, and overall business operations.

  • Opportunities to deepen your expertise across security architecture, cloud security, risk, incident response, regulatory frameworks, and emerging threats.

  • A collaborative environment where you’ll partner with IT teams, business leaders, and external partners and have a voice in how security is built into important technology decisions.

  • The chance to strengthen security awareness across the organization and help teams understand the role they play in protecting information.
