What is the opportunity?
You will be contributing to the success of RBC’s threat intelligence and cyber operations initiatives through the production and delivery of intelligence products that address issues of strategic importance to RBC.
The Manager of Cyber Intelligence (UK, Europe and Asia/Pacific) will be responsible for developing, maintaining and strengthening RBC’s external relationships and partnerships in UK, Europe and APAC with government agencies, industry partners, law enforcement personnel as it relates to cybersecurity and information sharing.
Working closely with the regional and global operational functions the Manager of Cyber Intelligence will coordinate the intelligence requirements and production of quality intelligence servicing the regional needs in UK/Europe and the Asia/Pacific (APAC) regions.
What will you do?
- Establish, conduct and develop intelligence partnerships internal and external to the bank, locally and globally to enable the maturation of quality analysis and actionable intelligence.
- Create and advance strong cyber intelligence sharing relationships and partnerships with industry companies and RBC partners.
- Through partnerships and relationships, identify threats that might impact the bank’s cybersecurity operations and drive industry-led solutions to mitigate risks posed by these threats.
- Conduct targeted research into various types of cyber related issues with primary focus on issues of strategic importance to RBC, including but not limited to, cybercriminal activity trends, espionage operations, geopolitical events, etc.
- Produce and oversee the production of clear and concise intelligence outputs for internal and external audiences. Develop and deliver intelligence briefings to UK and APAC executives and leadership teams. Be prepared to review and provide feedback on intelligence products produced by others in the group.
- Act as subject matter expert resource on the threat landscape and provide support to RBC stakeholders through effective early warning, detection, and analysis of cyber-attacks. Where necessary, relay information requirements back to Cyber Intelligence Group for processing.
- Act as regional information requirements management and collection coordination (IRM/CC) point of contact for the Cyber Intelligence Group. Collect and relay regional in requirements to the Cyber Intelligence Group in Toronto for integration into larger global intelligence collection planning.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Post secondary education in International Relations, Political Science, History, Psychology, Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security or related field.
- Extensive experience with all aspects of the intelligence cycle, including identifying key collection sources, evaluating raw intelligence, conducting research, performing link analysis and preparing finished intelligence for different levels of stakeholders
- Ability to analyze complex security incidents, events and advanced attack techniques through the application of analytical models like the diamond model and structured analytical techniques for intelligence analysis and production.
- Solid experience in intelligence operations and some experience in cybersecurity industry.
- Ability to understand or learn the technical implications of security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives or activities, and effectively make judgments in prioritizing and time allocation in a high-pressure environment.
Nice-to-have
- Eligible to gain, or possess a United Kingdom government security clearance (DV or above)
- ISC2 - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI)
- Technical experience in development and integration of enterprise Threat Intelligence Platforms
- Proven active participant in the Intelligence Community
- Hands on experience in cyber incident response, malware and vulnerability analysis.
