Cognicion LLC, a boutique eDiscovery services and information management provider is actively recruiting a skilled Cyber eDiscovery Specialist to provide technical expertise and tactical support to post-cyber event eDiscovery processes of cyber incident response (CIR) matters. Participates in the planning and execution of incident response projects including providing project-level analysis and recommendation of budgeting and planning parameters, best practices/procedures, reporting, and staffing requirements. Assists in the future design and development of Cognicion’s CIR service line, with emphasis on creating internal and external delivery systems and identifying/implementing process improvements to manage risks, priorities, and client-service expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Collaborates with leadership, managers, and other CIR team members to design, develop, and execute technical workflows for CIR projects including data mining and review at the direction of outside counsel and clients. Manages CIR projects and provides day-to-day support and guidance to the CIR team.
  2. Analyzes, recommends, and helps establish Standard Operating Procedures for incident response service line, including but not limited to:
    • Create protocol with forensic vendor, legal team, and client to transfer exfiltrated data
    • Develop mass extraction workflows and notification report creation and automation
    • Leverage Excel or other tools to support data normalization, deduplication, and validation
    • Refine SQL queries and scripting and coding techniques to generate ad hoc reports
  3. Coordinates and drives the implementation of new procedures across multiple projects to ensure efficient, defensible best practices and quality processes. Continuously refines workflows to increase efficiencies to maximize project team effectiveness and profitability.
  4. Works with leadership and management teams to develop project key performance indicators for maximum project profitability and client satisfaction.
  5. Stays abreast of emerging industry best practices and tools to identify, evaluate, and recommend ongoing enhancements to the organization’s protocols and procedures.
  6. Works with business development team to create standard and flexible pricing models to use in go-to-market strategies. Promotes cyber incident response capabilities internally and externally by speaking to Cognicion’s capabilities and value.
  7. Shifts to cover eDiscovery cases if available and as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in eDiscovery project management including 2 years’ experience handling cyber incident response projects.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience with on-time deliverables and strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. (PMP Certification not required)
  • Up to date expertise on cyber security and incident response industry standards including breach technology, notification reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of incident response technologies and tools such as Relativity, Everlaw, TrustArc, Canopy, Power BI and Tableau, VBA and Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, management and processing of electronically stored information (ESI), including the use of various ESI management tools and applications.
