Job DescriptionIDS is seeking an experienced Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Specialist to provide expertise and operational support across CWMD-related programs and initiatives. This role involves working closely with senior defense organizations, analyzing CWMD issues, supporting compliance and inspection activities, and managing complex multi-stakeholder projects. The CWMD Specialist will advise leadership, coordinate with key defense entities, and support efforts to mitigate WMD threats across strategic, operational, and policy domains.
Key Duties• Engage with Service Staff, Joint Staff (JS), and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) organizations on CWMD-related initiatives, analyses, and coordination efforts.
• Provide expertise in CWMD inspection and compliance (I&C) issues at both guidance and operational levels.
• Plan, direct, and manage complex CWMD-related projects involving multiple points of contact and coordination requirements.
• Support the development of CWMD strategies, policies, implementation plans, and reporting products for senior decision-makers.
• Assist in evaluating program effectiveness, capability gaps, and operational impacts related to WMD threats.
• Prepare and deliver briefings, documentation, and decision-support materials.
• Ensure all activities align with applicable regulations, security requirements, and mission objectives.
• Foster collaboration across internal teams, partner organizations, and external stakeholders to advance CWMD goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific, technical, management, or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience:
• Interacting with Service Staff, Joint Staff, and OSD organizations.
• Working CWMD inspection and compliance issues at a guidance or operational level.
• Planning, directing, and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• TOP SECRET/SCI clearance required.
