The 4LS Customer Support Engineer is responsible for 1830 customer problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution. 1830 4LS engineers are expected to be or become leading experts on one or more aspects of the 1830 WDM product and technology, including WDM optical transmission, coherent optical transponders and line modules, control and management software, and OTN switching. The NOKIA 1830 team is looking for highly motivated and experienced engineer to support customers in a rapidly growing market, with focus on both hyper-scaler and communications service-provider customers.
Product Description
1830 PSS WDM/OLS Transmission System. This system provides leading-edge optical transmission capabilities at industry-leading data rates (100G+), optical reach, and bandwidth density. The broad range of service capabilities includes Ethernet, OTN switching, SONET/SDH, and IP packet.
- Work closely with field support teams to collect and analyze required diagnostic data from deployed systems
- Work with R&D experts as required to resolve issues in timely way
- Work with R&D on product and process root cause analysis and correction
- Leverage state of the art AI tools and methodologies
- Develop automated field data analysis and diagnostic tools
- Contribute to the 1830 diagnostic knowledge base
- Train the customer field support team.
You have:
- Strong analytic, problem-solving, and technical diagnostic skills
- Communication and management skills for coordination of problem resolution with R&D and customer support teams
- At least 5 years experience, in industry or graduate school, in the development, test, or technical support of optical communications systems
- Hands-on experience with hardware or software systems design or test of WDM transmission systems
- Experience with Optical test equipment including optical test sets and measurement equipment
- Degree: MS or PhD Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics
