Allocator
Allocator is the data and portfolio management platform built solely with institutional investors in mind, serving leading endowments, foundations, pension funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, private banks, and fund-of-funds around the world. We help the largest asset allocators replace spreadsheets and manual work with a single source of truth across their entire alternative investment portfolio, spanning hedge funds and private capital funds of every strategy.
We have grown revenue tenfold in the last five years, and we are only getting started. We are an AI-forward business. AI assistants, automations, and modern data tooling are everyday tools here, not novelties, and we expect everyone to use them fluently to work faster and smarter. Our people and culture sit at the heart of that success, driven by excellence, inclusion, and a genuine sense of fun. We are always looking for sharp, ambitious people to help us build the next generation of data and software for the alternative investment industry.
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing business early and build a career in customer success and investment data from the ground up. Customer Success at Allocator is how we make sure our institutional clients get more value from the platform every quarter, and high-quality fund data sits at the heart of that promise. As a Customer Success Associate, your starting focus is manager relations. You are the first point of contact for the hedge funds and general partners who submit data to Allocator, and the person who makes sure that data arrives complete, on time, and accurate enough for our institutional clients to make decisions on.
It is a role that blends relationship management with hands-on data work. One day you are on a call unblocking a stalled report from a fund manager. The next you are working through an exception report to trace where a problem is coming from, or sitting with Product to automate something you would rather not do by hand. AI assistants and automations are core daily tools in this role, and you will use them to chase data, spot patterns, and cut out repetitive work. It is not a technical role in the traditional sense, but you do need to be comfortable with technology and data, moving through spreadsheets with ease and reading structured reports without hand-holding.
You will own a portfolio of managers end to end, working closely with sales, product, technology, and the rest of the Customer Success team. As automation takes on more of the manual work, the role will grow into client support, onboarding, and direct relationship management. We are looking for a smart, curious graduate who takes initiative without being asked and wants to grow quickly. If that sounds like you, keep reading.
What You Will Own
- A portfolio of manager relationships end to end, from first introduction through ongoing reporting, building long-term partnerships and securing timely, complete data.
- Data quality and coverage against clear targets for timeliness, completeness, and accuracy, using exception reports to find and fix root causes.
- Onboarding of new managers and funds, from first call through their first reporting cycle, working with internal data analysts to hit our service levels.
- Escalations when reporting breaks down, diagnosing the cause, owning the conversation with the manager, and driving it through to resolution.
- A real part in automating the work, using AI assistants to strip manual steps out of your own workflows, spotting coverage gaps across the fund universe, and giving Product clear recommendations on what we should build next.
- Partnership with the wider Customer Success team on onboarding statistics, sales-trial coverage checks, and client deadlines, along with the documentation that helps the function scale. Over time, as automation takes on the manual work, this grows into client support and direct relationship management.
Who You Are
- A smart, ambitious graduate with a genuine curiosity about investment markets and data. You do not need to be an expert, but you should know your way around the basics of how markets and funds work.
- Good with technology and fluent with AI. You pick up new tools quickly, you are comfortable in spreadsheets and data, and you are excited to use AI assistants and automations as core daily tools to work faster and smarter.
- Personable, presentable, and articulate. You come across well with clients and fund managers, both in writing and on a call, and you represent Allocator with credibility.
- Service-minded. You take pride in being responsive, reliable, and genuinely helpful, and you hold external counterparts to their commitments with professionalism.
- Proactive. You spot problems and fix them without being asked, and you treat manual work as something to improve rather than a status quo to accept.
- Organised and disciplined. You juggle a high volume of relationships, calls, and deadlines without dropping the detail, and you follow through.
Skills and Qualifications
- A strong academic record and a bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- A real interest in the alternative investments industry and investment data.
- Any experience in investor relations, project management, fund operations, or a data-adjacent role is a strong plus, including internships and vacation work.
- Strong written and verbal communication, and confidence dealing with people at all levels.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, comfortable juggling a high volume of relationships, calls, and deadlines.
- CFA, CAIA, or a postgraduate qualification in finance is a bonus, but it is not required.
Other Benefits
- Professional development budget (for example CFA or CAIA)
- Private medical cover
- Pension plan contributions
- Flexible working, with regular team socials and events
