The Role

American Waterworks is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, providing them with essential information about our products and services, addressing their inquiries, and resolving any issues they may encounter.

Key Responsibilities:

- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat in a timely and professional manner
- Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and effectively
- Provide detailed information about products and services
- Process payments, orders, and refunds accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues
- Meet performance targets, such as call volume and resolution time
- Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services
- Provide feedback to management on customer issues and concerns

Required Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in customer service software and Microsoft Office
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in the water utility industry
- Knowledge of water treatment and distribution systems
- Certification as a Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Customer Service Professional (CCSP)

Compensation:

- Hourly rate: $19.04 - $28.45 per hour, depending on experience
- Annual salary range: $33,363 - $38,376 per year
