Position Summary

The Customer Operations – Contracts Administrator is an individual contributor focused primarily on managing a high volume of contracting needs for a rapidly growing, innovative medical device company. The role is responsible for reviewing and negotiating customer and vendor agreements, RFPs, clinical trial agreements and other various agreements in support of the business. This role will also conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, guidelines, training, educational materials and other written product as needed. They are expected to participate in legal and compliance related projects such as document productions and document research in support of the business and the legal department. This position has high visibility and exposure to upper management in supporting a competitive business within the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafts and reviews contracts and provide guidance on contract standards.
  • Participate in contract negotiations.
  • Identifies, analyzes, researches, and resolves legal and business process issues and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Identifies risk, determines the level of risk, and routes appropriately.
  • Consults on legal, operational and business provisions.
  • Monitors compliance with internal processes and policies.
  • Prepares contract summaries and/or issues lists to present to internal and external counsel as well as business leadership.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of business units (BUs), products, strategy, and operational model.

Requirements

  • Legal/compliance assistant and/or human resources assistant supporting a growing company.
  • Experience managing a high volume of commercial contracts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supporting a healthcare company is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills, critical thinking and ability to anticipate support needs.
  • Ability to consistently handle sensitive and/or confidential material and information appropriately.
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Word, Outlook; Power Point, Excel and Visio.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with broad spectrum of attorneys, compliance officers and business unit representatives.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, ongoing initiatives and efficiently re-prioritize such responsibilities, as may be required in a changing business environment.
  • Communicate openly, clearly, and completely (including excellent written skills).
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and promote the reputation and integrity of the Legal and Compliance organization and the Company.
  • Effectively utilize processes and procedures for various legal functions; including coordination with attorneys and other stakeholders to manage workflow and ensure projects are timely and accurately completed.
  • Communicate and enforce existing rules for Legal and Compliance department processes and provide a conduit for resolution of legal issues/questions.
  • Work with attorneys and other stakeholders to identify significant customer, third party and business partnership related issues, and work with stakeholders to effectively prioritize delivery of work product for review.
  • Anticipate problems and initiate action to ensure that work is delivered timely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the related business unit’s operations, legal documents and needs, guidelines, and regulatory requirements regarding customer, third party and business partner related issues.
  • Work on complex problems of broad scope where analysis of situations or information requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Work in collaboration with the business unit attorneys or other clients, and exercise independent judgment in escalating issues within broadly defined practices and policies.
  • Interface with various internal business units (Litigation, Regulatory, Compliance, Intellectual Property, etc.) and effectively managing relationships with those internal business units.
